JTL students, faculty, and staff showed honor to the community by donating 4940 boxes, bags, and cans of food to the Salvation Army Food Pantry. Food was collected from Nov. 1 to Nov. 18. Homerooms that donated the most were Mr. Henritzy (6th), Mr. Toth (7th), and Mr. Kimler (8th).
Ms. Turner's English 10 classes at HS North were honored to welcome two Veterans to their classroom. Sgt. Steve Leibig and Mr. Burdell Hontz students about their service experiences. Sgt. Leibig served in Desert Storm & Operation Iraqi Freedom. Mr. Hontz is a WWII Pearl Harbor Survivor. It was moving hearing the stories of these two men. It was even more moving to see the reactions of the students while listening.
HS North students from Mr. Suarez’s Wood Tech class holding up cutting boards they produced to donate to Setebaid Services, a not for profit organization to help children with Type 1 Diabetes, in honor of November being National Diabetes Month.
A team of students at IF Institute problem solve and work together to build the highest tower using only potatoes, toothpicks, and 10 minutes! This month's theme for IF Institute was "Food for Thought". Students participated in differentiated activities including Spudlympics, scientific inquiry with a potato clock and activities with ESASD's Food Service Director.
HS North Choir Students Malik B, Dan C, Brenden E, John H, Ashley L, Jon S and Brandon Y auditioned and were selected to the American Choral Directors Eastern Conference Honors Choir. They will travel to Rhode Island to rehearse and perform with other students from up and down the east coast. Great Job!!
