Closings and Delays

snowThe East Stroudsburg Area School District announces closings and delays using emergency message mass distribution. Such messages are sent only when absolutely necessary, and are delivered to all telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of the parent(s) with whom the child resides. Emergency messages are sent to announce school closings, early dismissals, and other events that may have an imminent impact on the educational community, and may be sent at any time, but usually between the hours of 5:00 AM and midnight.

IMPORTANT: In order to receive these messages, you must keep your child's school office informed of your telephone number(s) of record.

If you are receiving messages from the school district and are not a parent or guardian, your telephone number may have been accidentally entered for one of our students. Please contact us at 570-424-8500 x.1122 to have the problem corrected.

Closing and delay information is also made available on our district website at the same time for those who are not subscribed, or those who are away from their email or phone at the time of the announcement.

Local media is also contacted along with the mass messages and school website posting.

In addition, the East Stroudsburg Area School District has established an information line for the general public. The line will be used to announce delays, cancellations and other emergency information that may affect district operation. The telephone number for the information line is (570) 424-7842.
