Overview

Art is a curriculum subject equal in importance to English, History, Science, and Mathematics. Students will be expected to do sketchbook assignments, take tests and quizzes, participate in critiques and make presentations, as well as creating works of art. We provide the following courses to encourage students lifelong commitment to learning.

Goals

1. Increase the integration of technology into art instruction.
2. Increase integrations of other subject content into the art curriculum.
3. Increase administrative/public understanding and support for the arts and arts instruction through department contributions to district and building newsletters.
4. Increase administrative/public understanding and support for the art curriculum by developing web sites to showcase student work.
5. Motivate students to pursue the arts outside of class and beyond high school.
6. Promote increased interest and participation in all arts electives.
7. Continue extra-curricular activities in the arts.
8. Create additional pathways and goals for arts-related Career Pathways.
