Beyond the athletic program, through the Mountain Valley Conference, we offer several co-curricular academic activites: mock trial, chess team, scholastic scrimmage, and speech and debate. Students also participate in Pennsylvania Math League, IU-20 technology fairs, Word Challenge, and Envirothon. Students also participate in competitions as they arise, such as the Monroe County Spelling Bee and Citizen Bee.
In addition to athletic and co-curricular programs, East Stroudsburg High School - South also offers a variety of curricular and service clubs: Key Club, FBLA, Art Club, Computer Club, Special Olympics, Foreign Language Club, Walleyball, Model United Nations, Chain Reaction, Ski Club, Newspaper, Yearbook, Student Against Substance Abuse, National Honor Society, and Student Government. We encourage student involvement in community service projects, such as Toys for Tots, Salvation Army Food Drive, Red Cross Blood Drive, Kiwanis Pancake Day, visits to nursing homes, and Big Brothers Big Sisters, to name a few. The Drama II classes perform a play for the student body twice a year. We are very proud of our activities and encourage students as well as faculty to provide suggestions for additional activities. The Board of Directors allocates funds to support all of the above activities. Furthermore, parent groups organize and conduct fund-raising to supplement the programs and provide additional opportunities for students, such as sport banquets and field trips. We encourage all students to get involved with at least one activity.
