East Stroudsburg High School – South is a comprehensive public school servicing grades 9-12 with satellite services from the Monroe County Career and Technical Institute. This school is accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Middle States Association of Secondary Schools. The high school is also the local testing center for the Scholastic Assessment Testing Program sponsored by The College Board. The school runs on a two semester, block scheduling pattern. Most full credit courses run for 90 minutes per class period. Final grades are reported each semester. The school district is located in Pennsylvania’s beautiful Pocono Mountains incorporating both Monroe and Pike Counties. The school district includes the borough of East Stroudsburg and its University, which enrolls both undergraduate and graduate students. Also located within the district boundaries is the Pocono Medical Center, along with a number of resorts including Shawnee, Mountain Manor, Mountain Lake, and Fernwood. This area serves as a recreational center for the New York and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
