Erin Bonner

Class of 1995

At ESHS, Erin earned First Team All-Centennial League honors in 1993 and Second Team All-Mountain Valley Conference recognition 1994 in field hockey.  She garnered the ESHS field hockey Most Valuable Athlete Award in 1995.  Erin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Keene (New Hampshire) State College in 1999.  In college, Erin was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Regional All-American first Team in 1997 and second Team in 1998.  She was named to the Little East Conference Field Hockey All-Star Team and All-Tournament Team in 1998 as her team advanced to participate in the 1998 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament.  Erin performed with the same degree of excellence in the classroom as she did on the athletic field, earning National Field Hockey Coaches Association Academic All-American recognition in both 1997 and 1998.  In addition, she was named the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Scholar Athlete Award winner in 1998, and was the recipient of the Keene State College Scholar Athlete Award in 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999.  … Since graduation, Erin has taught health and physical education, coached and officiated field hockey, and has also coached basketball, softball and lacrosse.


Karen Grivner Cassidy

Class of 1993

Karen earned a total of eight Cavalier varsity letters, four-each in track and swimming, from 1990 through 1993.  She won six Centennial League track gold medals (100m dash and 100m hurdles—1993; 300m hurdles—1991; 4X100m relay—1991, 1992, 1993) and was a six-time District XI Champion and a seven-time P.I.A.A. State Track qualifier in the 100m dash, 100m hurdles, and 4X100m relay.  Upon graduation, Karen owned or shared five ESHS track records.  Other awards and achievements Karen earned as an ESHS student-athlete included being named the “TV-13 Athlete of the Week” and the Exchange Club “Youth of the Month,” the Student Council Leadership Award, the Band Parents Award and induction into the National Honor Society.  She earned Bachelor of Science degree from Millersville University and a  Masters of Education degree from Wilkes University.  Karen currently teaches mathematics in the Hatboro-Horsham School District.

 


Susan Lambert

Class of 1975

Susan was one of the first female 3-sport ESHS athletes, earning letters in basketball (1973, 1974, 1975), field hockey (1973, 1974) and softball (1974, 1975).  She was the first female player in ESHS basketball history to score more than 1,000 points (1,003).  Susan received the Most Valuable Athlete Award in girls’ basketball in 1974 and was named Co-Most Valuable Athlete in 1975.  She was instrumental in the planning and the addition of field hockey and softball to the ESHS athletic program.  Susan holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Clinical Psychology from West Chester University and became a licensed psychologist in 1987.  She was the regional director of an agency which provides residential support and clinical services to individuals with developmental disabilities from 1990-2000 and currently serves as the director of a program serving at-risk youth with special needs.


George Litts

Class of 1953

George was one of the founders of the Varsity “E” Club and was extremely active in fundraising efforts to benefit the ESHS athletic department.  He was instrumental in the development and expansion of the souvenir football program and was very active in fundraising efforts to improve lighting at Memorial Stadium and to purchase championship jackets for deserving athletes.  George voluntarily painted and decorated the Memorial Stadium scoreboard and press box and personally painted and donated Cavalier football championship signs.  He also served as co-chairman of “Jack Kist Night,” in honor of our Hall of Fame football coach and athletic director.  George was the first four-year varsity football letter winner (1949, 1950, 1951, 1952), and served as field captain in first annual Turkey Day football game.  In addition, he earned three varsity letters in baseball and two in basketball.


Matthew Smith

Class of 1989

Matt earned nine varsity letters in his ESHS athletic career, 3 each in football (1987, 1988, 1989), basketball (1986, 1988, 1989) and baseball (1987, 1988, 1989).  As a Cavalier, he received four Most Valuable Athlete Awards, winning acclaim in football (1989), basketball (1989) and baseball (1988 and 1989).  Matt was named ESHS Best All-Around Athlete Award winner in 1989.  The consummate winner, Matt led the Cavaliers to three Centennial League Championships in football (1988) and baseball (1988, 1989), and an appearance in the Centennial League Championship game in basketball (1989).  With Matt as the starting quarterback, the Cavs amassed a record of 19-wins and 3-losses, with 2 straight wins on Turkey Day and he still holds five Cavalier passing records.  On the baseball diamond, Matt batted .304 as a sophomore, .338 as a junior and .358 as a senior, with on-base percentages of .578, .492 and .358 respectively.  Matt earned a career varsity baseball pitching record of 19-wins, 4-losses.
