Weller Health Education Center Survey

The Weller Center for Heath Education was introduced to the school district in February 2008 at the regular meeting of the Board of Education. A focus group of educators and health professionals later participated in the construction of a survey which was administered to 1,556 students in grades 9-12 during May 2009. All parents of students in grades 9-12 who attended the school district's high schools were informed as to the content of the survey in advance so that they could make an informed decision as to whether or not their child(ren) would participate.

The Weller Health Education Center presented the highlights of the survey results at the December 21, 2009 regular meeting of the Board of Education. We are pleased to be able to publish the following aggregate, anonymous results of that survey. While there was some discussion at the December Board Meeting about performing additional surveys to research some potential areas of concern, only after the data from the recent survey has been reviewed and commented on by the public would it be appropriate to determine any future course of action.
