This meeting will be held in the High School North Auditorium.

Students in Mrs. Garlette's Advanced Graphic Tech created t-shirts for the North bus drivers Relay for Life consession stand team.

Recently, Mrs. Sowers' English class finished a year-long letter-writing project. Students were matched with a community volunteer and corresponded with each other twice per month. On May 28, the class held a luncheon to say "thank-you." Students and their guests assembled health kits to be distributed to those affected by tornado outbreaks and other natural disasters. A special "thank-you" to Mrs. Calandra's class for their help in putting together extra health kits!

Richard Smith, a sophomore in Mrs. Byrne's class at HS North, was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Pocono Record's Write an Editorial Contest. Richard was recognized for his editorial about the positive effects of peer pressure on today's teens. Richard's editorial, photo and a brief biography appeared in a special edition of the Pocono Record on April 24th, 2008. Way to go, Rich!

4th graders from Middle Smithfield Elementary visited Harrisburg, our state capital. We loved touring the Capitol Building!

Congratulations to High School South students Joe Koppie, Grace Gunnels and Marcus Raman for placing in the top 25th percentile in the nation for the the Department of Treasury sponsored Financial Literacy Challenge 2008. These students took the challenge as part of their Personal Finance class with Mrs. Rogers.

Congratulations to the East Stroudsburg North Mathematics Team for finishing in 1st Place in the Pennsylvania Mathematics League. Brittany Esbin and Robert Younger ended up tied for 2nd in the state. Andrew Moulakis came in 3rd Place and John Fazekas came in 4th Place. Thank-you to the entire team for an excellent year.
