"Literature and the Arts"

Throughout the 2006/2007 school year, our teachers and students have spent a great deal of time focusing on the art of liturature. During this time, the students have spent time writing poetry, creating books, designing covers, learning the art of storytelling, and using various medias in art to enhance their knowledge gained from books. On the evening of May 11, 2007, Resica opened its doors to our parents and community members to share the many accomplishments of the children. The following photos will provide a brief synopsis of that eventful and successful evening. |
This spring, our second grade students
were fortunate to work with our Artist in Residence, Lisa Facciponti
on storytelling. During her residency, the students learned
the process involved in storytelling, from memorizing a story in skeleton
form, to making the story their own. The students then were
instructed on how to make their story interesting to the listener.
