Early Dismissals and Kindergarten

During the winter months, we sometimes have a need for an early dismissal due to snow and ice storms. Should this happen the following procedure will take place:

1. Our office will call all parents of morning kindergarten students only as these students will be dismissed at the same time that the rest of the elementary students are dismissed. This often means that the morning kindergarten students will be here past their usual 11:35 A.M. dismissal.
2. There will be no kindergarten that day for our afternoon kindergarten students. This time will be made up later in the school year by the afternoon students attending one full day of school for each early dismissal. You will be informed ahead of time when these make-up days will be held.
3. As usual, if there is no parent/guardian at the bus stop, your morning kindergarten child will be returned to the school. Please remember that it is often difficult to judge the arrival time of the buses during storms; therefore, please be patient if your son's or daughter's bus does not arrive in the usual time frame.
4. When we keep the morning kindergarten students, we want to provide lunch. In the past our P.T.O has graciously covered the cost of these lunches. Should this practice not be able to continue, we will send a notice home with payment options available.
