    Recognize and name letters
    Identify rhyming words
    Identify letter/ sound correspondence: M, B. S, T, F
    Recognize short A
    Recognize phonograms –at and -am

Oral Language Development:
    Students say names
    Use vocabulary of school: colors, numbers, shapes, sizes
    Listen for purpose
    Follow oral directions

Written Language Development:
     Students write names
     Use naming words and action words
     Use nouns and verbs to create sentences

High Frequency (sight) words:
     Learn to write and recognize words: I, can, A, the, am, like, is, at

Weeks 10-18: Second Quarter

Reading Comprehension:
   Recall and retell story
   Identify characters and setting
   Tell what happened first, next and last
   Use illustrations to tell story

Phonemic Development:
   Identify letters
   Identify sound/letter correspondence:C P N H R
   Draw pictures of things that begin with the letters C P N H R
   And label each using the beginning letter or words.

Oral Language Development:
     Categorize things that go together
     Give directions
     Listen responsively
     Give details

Written Language Development:
     Use complete sentences
     Use telling sentences
     Ask and answer questions
     Identify capital letters, periods and question marks

High Frequency words:
    Learn to write and recognize: big, in, it, but, look, see

Weeks 19-27 Third Quarter

Reading Comprehension Development:
    Make predictions about story events
    Identify main ideas, setting and plot
    Classify

Phonics Development:
    Identify letter/sound correspondence for letters:L D G K W J V
    Recognize letter sound for short O and phonograms -ot, -op
    Identify rhyming words

Oral Language Development:
    Listen politely and for details
    Ask and answer questions
    Make introductions

Written Language Development:
   Identify color words and opposites
   Identify rhyming words
   Identify more than one/ plurals

High frequency (sight) words:

   Learn to write and recognize:  my, we, little, have, not, do, red, yellow, blue

Weeks 28-36 Fourth Quarter

Reading Comprehension Development:
    Classify
    Draw conclusions
    Identify author's purpose
    Identify sequence of events


Phonics Development:
    Name and identify letters
    Identify letter/sound correspondence for letters

Oral Language Development:
