Superintendent

Dear Students, Staff, Parents & Community Members,

A new school year presents opportunities for various beginnings—new classes, new teachers, sometimes new courses, often new materials, new technology applications and, this year, a new Acting Superintendent. I am proud to serve you as we embark on the 2009-2010 school year, remembering that newness alone cannot produce transformation and change.

We all must be willing to be work together, ever mindful of our responsibility. Our students must also realize they have a responsibility to achieve to their greatest potential, taking advantage of the many opportunities placed before them.

We can be proud of what we achieve in East Stroudsburg. We continue to make strides K-12; however, our achievements are not due to complacency and satisfaction with the status quo. Our program is what it is because a staff of dedicated, aspiring men and women have a common goal to do what is best for students and their families. These individuals are always mindful of the strong community connection that has been established over the years and the importance of working together to achieve that goal.

Lastly, I look forward to our year together and working with the many talented, caring individuals that make up our school community. I welcome any opportunity to talk with you personally. I may be contacted through (570) 424-8500 Ext. 1101.

Sincerely,

Sharon S. Laverdure
Acting Superintendent
