The data collected will be in various forms and can be unique to a particular action step. Numeric averages or scores can be presented in a spreadsheet or table format with all the necessary information needed to understand and interpret the numbers. Samples or collections of artifacts pertaining to public announcements, correspondences and student work are other ways to collect, review, and evaluate the action step. Surveys will be conducted and results gathered through the traditional paper process and an on-line program. The surveys could be posted on the district web page or created for use in the individual school computer labs during events, such as Parent-Teacher conferences, community nights or school board meetings.
The yearly evaluation reports will include:
The Director of Technology will be responsible for monitoring the entire Technology Plan and the Category Coordinators. To reduce the problem of a large amount of data being collected and reported at any one time, the technology plan will be divided into 3 reporting groups: Group 1 – Curriculum and Learning; Group 2 – Administration and Management; Group 3 – Communications and Information Access. Starting January 2003, and continuing for the length of the plan, the groups will report during the specified months:
The reports will be made at the regularly scheduled board meetings and a summary included in the next district newsletter. Summaries of the reports will be made at administrative team meetings, building faculty meetings, and PTO meetings. The district web page will have a link to the Technology Plan and the reported summaries will be posted on that link. Building principals may include the summaries or portions of the summaries that are relevant to their building in the PTO or building newsletters.
A rubric will be designed as an assessment tool for each goal of the technology plan. The rubric will define the degree at which each goal has been achieved along with success indicators. Other assessment data will be gathered using a combination of student portfolios, observation and test results to establish what barriers were encountered and how they were addressed, along with any redesign or changes in the action plans. Surveys will be utilized when goals are more subjective in nature, such as technology integration and comfort levels of new technologies.
All indicator data and results will be reported to employees of the East Stroudsburg Area School District, parents, students and the communities we serve. Reports will be made at regularly scheduled board meetings and summaries included in the district newsletter. Presentations of the summary reports will be made at administrative team meetings, building faculty meetings, and PTO meetings. The district web page will have a link to the Technology Plan and the reported summaries will be posted on that link. Building principals may include the summaries or portions of the summaries that are relevant to their building in the PTO or building newsletters.
