The Common Application provides a way for students to fill out one application and send that application to muliple schools. There are nearly 900 Common Application members in 47 states and the District of Columbia as well as international members. If some or most of the schools you intend to apply to are on the Common Application it may be beneficial for you to use.
You can find a complete list of the colleges and universities which particpate by going to https://www.commonapp.org/explore/.
You still need to pay for each application you submit so it won't save you money This is a service which allows you to apply to multiple colleges from one location so it hopefully saves you time and keeps you organized. Also, when you request letters of recommendations and your transcript, these can be accessed by your colleges and universities from the Common Application website. You will still need to provide SAT and AP scores by visiting CollegeBoard.org.
