What is Trauma?
Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event. Examples include: car accidents, war, domestic violence, pandemic(s), etc. These experiences may involve a single traumatic event or may be repeated over many years.
For more information visit the National Child Traumatic Stress Network's website, please click here About Child Trauma.
Adverse Childhood Experiences
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are highly stressful or traumatic events that occur in the life of a child before the age of 18. Multiple ACEs can rewire the brain, and often create extremely unhealthy stress-coping mechanisms.
