    Mr. Kane Furst is a secondary English Language Arts teacher at East Stroudsburg High School South. Prior to South, he taught at Notre Dame Middle School in East Stroudsburg as a fifth grade English and social studies teacher, also serving as the school’s athletic director. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from Wagner College and his master of education degree from East Stroudsburg University. He is currently enrolled in Wilkes University’s principal certification program and is working toward becoming an educational leader in the future. Furst is the head varsity baseball coach at East Stroudsburg South, a position he has held since 2014. In his first year leading the program, the Cavaliers won the Mountain Valley Conference Championship. It was baseball’s first championship of any kind in 25 years and the program’s first Mountain Valley Conference championship. He is one of three primary team members of South’s Student Assistance for East Stroudsburg (SAFE) program, where he specializes in assisting students with behavioral concerns. He is also Student Assistance Program (SAP) certified by The Pennsylvania Network for Student Assistance Services (PNSAS). His primary goal is to provide assistance and services to students who find themselves in need of guidance with their behavior and performance in school. Furst currently lives in Hackettstown, New Jersey with his fiancé and son.

    Mrs. Aimee Ellison

    Mrs. Aimee Ellison is a secondary Health & Physical Education teacher at East Stroudsburg High School South where she also teaches Cyber Health & Physical Education, Advanced Strength & Conditioning, and Adapted Physical Education. She is the school’s Special Olympics Unified Track &  Field coach and the K-12 department chairperson. She earned her bachelor of applied science degree in health & physical education/fitness in 1991. Ellison has coached girls’ soccer and field hockey at South, leading the girls’ soccer team from 1993-1999. She is a former fitness instructor and personal trainer, specializing in designing and implementing training programs for clients, performing fitness testing, and preparing clients for natural bodybuilding competitions. Ellison is one of three primary team members of South’s Student Assistance for East Stroudsburg (SAFE) program, where she is responsible for working with students with attendance concerns. She is also Student Assistance Program (SAP) certified by The Pennsylvania Network for Student Assistance Services (PNSAS). Her primary goal is to provide assistance and services to students who find themselves in need of guidance with their attendance and performance in school. Ellison currently lives in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania with her husband.

    Ms. Katrina Newman is a secondary Biology and General Science Teacher at East Stroudsburg High School South.  She earned her bachelor's degrees in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training and Health Education from East Stroudsburg University in 2003/2004.  She is certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to teach Biology, General Science, Middle School Mathematics, and Health Education.  She is Student Assistance Program (SAP) certified by The Pennsylvania Network for Student Assistance Services (PNSAS) and she is also a ReNew certified mentor.  RENEW is a structured school-to-career transition planning and individualized wraparound process for youth with emotional and behavioral challenges.  Ms. Newman is one of 4 primary team members of South’s Assistance for East Stroudsburg (SAFE) program and Tier 3 MTSS program, where she is responsible for working with academic concerns.  Her primary goal is to help students achieve academic success.  Ms. Newman currently lives in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania with her four children.

    Mr. Christopher Stanukenas is a secondary Social Studies Teacher at East Stroudsburg High School South who teaches eleventh-grade American History and twelfth-grade Global Citizenship. He is Student Assistance Program (SAP) certified by The Pennsylvania Network for Student Assistance Services (PNSAS) and he is also a ReNew certified mentor. His goal is to help students achieve academic success while here at South High School as well as to help each student realize their potential. Mr. Stanukenas currently lives in East Stroudsburg Borough with his wife and two children.

    Mr. Cody Kelly

    Mr. Cody Kelly is a secondary vocal music teacher and choir director for East Stroudsburg High School South where he teaches Concert Choir, Honors Choir, Vocal Tech, and courses in music theory, composition, and music technology. In addition he advises Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and co-advises Aevidum. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree and Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and Music from Lebanon Valley College, Annville Pa, a Masters degree in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and is currently working on the certificate in Modern Band from Lebanon Valley College.  Mr. Kelly has presented at the New Directions in Music Education Conference at Michigan State University, NAfME All Eastern Division Conference, and the PA Music Teachers Association Conference at Penn State .  In addition to his role at East Stroudsburg HS South, he is a Modern Band Teacher Trainer for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA), serves as the PMEA D10 Professional Development Chairperson & State Representative, and is the assistant band director and choir accompanist for the Minersville Area School District.  His goal with SAFE is to help students overcome barriers in their educational lives in order to be the most successful while here at South.
