I retired from the New York City Department of Education with a thirty-three year career as teacher, assistant principal, principal and deputy superintendent, I began in the ESASD school district in 2005 as Assistant Principal at J.T. Lambert Intermediate School. In 2006, I became Assistant Principal at Middle Smithfield Elementary School where I worked until June 2008. In March 2008 I began my tenure as Principal of East Stroudsburg Elementary, while simultaneously completing my responsibilities at Middle Smithfield.
The 2017-2018 school year marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of East Stroudsburg Elementary School. This year will also commemorate my 10th year as building principal and instructional leader at ESE. We begin each morning with our school’s pledge: “At ESE, Where we Strive for Excellence, we will be Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to learn!”
We envision our school as a community where students, staff and parents work together to create an atmosphere that promotes academic excellence. Ultimately, the students of our community will become life-long learners who are productive citizens of our society. They will have long-term goals, high self-esteem and respect for themselves and all others. The students will develop decision-making skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to communicate effectively. I would like to welcome all new and returning students, and their families, to ESE “Where we Strive for Excellence!”
