Miss Grindle joined the East Stroudsburg family in 2013. She is currently the Reading teacher on the 7/8 Maple team. Previously she taught four years at Wallenpaupack Area School District. After that she taught one year in sunny Volusia County FL. Upon returning home to the Poconos, she was employed two years at Pocono Mountain School District. Miss Grindle was a varsity and competition cheerleading coach for five years.In addition, Miss Grindle works as an adjunct professor at Northampton Community College in the Early Childhood Education Department.Miss Grindle is a mother of two sons, Jaiden and Jasiah. As a family, they enjoy being outside (especially the beach), playing sports, and of course reading!
This class stresses collaboration, discussion, and individual reading. We will be using a reading workshop approach. We will be reading novels as a class, reading in book clubs, working on group and individual projects, and free reading. This class also uses many technology tools to collaborate, deepen the understanding and make the reading relevant.
The main goals of this class include improving comprehension and critical thinking strategies, increasing vocabulary and developing a love of reading!
