In Spring 2025, Gender Studies students engaged 95 peers and community members in raising awareness around key social justice issues.
Through a semester-long service project, students researched topics tied to the curriculum, planned and took action, reflected on their impact, and demonstrated their commitment to change. A celebration of their efforts will follow later this semester.
Their chosen topics included:
-
Inclusive leadership and DEI in the workplace
-
Discriminatory U.S. immigration policies and their ties to anti-DEI efforts
-
The impact of current policies on the LGBTQIA+ community
-
Bans on gender education and their effect on gender identity expression
-
Economic challenges faced by single parents
-
Wealth disparities affecting students in education
