Students take trip to learn about new manufacturing techniques
Students learn about advanced additive manufacturing...
This year, media design teacher Terry Toth had the opportunity to teach his students about advanced manufacturing techniques by getting his student video team signed up for a video competition. The Manufactures Resource Center in Allentown invited several middle schools in Monroe country to join the competition this year. Students are sent to various manufacturers and they shoot video and put together a video clip which promotes cool things in manufacturing.
Mr. Toth's video team (Bobby M, Branden M, Adriana N, Andrew G, and Husna K) got to work with Imperial Machine & Tool in Columbia, New Jersey. They spent a full day in November getting to know a variety of different tools, met many employees with different skill sets, and saw some amazing technology that is state of the art in the creation of some highly sophisticated equipment.
The students have been working non-stop on the planning, shooting, and video editing for two months, and have had positive feedback for the project so far. The video is set to be finished by the end of January, and the awards banquet will be held on February 28th at 6pm at ArtsQuest in Bethlehem.
Below are a few of the images from the trip to Imperial Machine & Tool.
