I wanted to give everyone the final hat count for Little Hats, Big Hearts. Hats and yarn were donated from multiple schools in the district and we were able to pull together an amazing donation! Overall, we donated 248 red crocheted/knitted baby hats and 5 skeins of red yarn!!! (Over 100 hats were donated from our South and North High Schools EACH!! Also, special thanks to Mrs. Gilmartin's 5th grade class at Resica!) This is an unbelievable total number!
Our hats will be washed, packaged and given to newborn babies born in February at participating hospitals nearest us and will then extend to all hospitals in the St. Luke's Health Network and the Lehigh Valley Health Network. Our hats will make a great impact during American Heart Month in helping raise awareness of heart disease (the number one killer of Americans) and congenital heart defects (the most common type of birth defect in the country).
On behalf of the North Creative Crafts Club, thank you all for pulling together to help this cause! Way to go ESASD!
