At East Stroudsburg Area School District, we want each of our graduates to be successful in their post-high school workplaces or institutions of further study. We know that in this century it is nearly impossible to do this without a digital device and so we have been committed to giving our students access to these devices at school and teaching them to use them properly.
However, digital devices cannot achieve their maximum intended educational value unless used both at school and at home. It is our desire that each of our students be able to access learning in a way that is personally relevant and equitable, and so we are happy to announce that beginning in the 2018-2019 school year, each student in grades 6-12 will be assigned a laptop device that they will be taking home.
Laptops will be handed out on the first day of school. In order to receive their laptop, students must bring with them the proper paperwork assuring us that they and their family have read and understood all the guidelines. Please find enclosed a green form entitled “HOME AND SCHOOL USE” to read and sign. Please make note of the Digital Device Handbook and its contents and if you need help understanding it or can’t access it online, please call your child’s school to obtain a physical copy before you sign the green form. Please give the green form to your child to bring with them on the first day of school.
